Club Infantil Sonrisas was founded in 1993 with the goal of deterring violence and drugs. The founders of Club Infantil Sonrisas hoped to encourage children to stay in school and study rather than getting into trouble on the streets.

The club has worked closely with the police force in both Baja and Southern California to plan events to help keep children on the right track. The children involved in the club range from ages 4 to 14 years old.
